Egyptian Factories for Quality and Export Initiative

Factories for Quality & Export

Stronger quality, more competitive industry, and wider export opportunities

As part of its efforts to improve Egyptian factories’ performance and competitiveness in domestic and international markets, the Egyptian Association for Industrial Development launched the “Egyptian Factories for Quality and Export” initiative from 15 October 2026, in alignment and cooperation with the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality. The initiative aims to help factories upgrade their quality systems and improve production standards in line with applicable specifications and target-market requirements.

Factory Visits and Needs Assessment

The initiative begins with on-site factory visits to assess the current status of each manufacturer’s quality systems and identify technical and organizational needs, especially at factories without a dedicated quality department or a comprehensive quality management system.

Assessment findings are used to develop a factory-specific improvement plan based on its activities, products, and needs. This includes building or upgrading quality systems and setting out procedures, monitoring practices, and controls to improve processes and products.

Building an Integrated Factory Quality System

The initiative aims to help factories move from isolated quality-control measures to comprehensive institutional quality management, covering responsibilities and procedures, production monitoring, testing and documentation, performance measurement, nonconformity management, and continuous improvement.

It also supports the alignment of industrial processes and products with relevant standards and quality requirements, thereby improving operational efficiency and final-product quality.

Workforce Training and Qualification

People are central to the initiative. Factory teams are therefore to receive training and development through the Quality Institute, according to the needs identified at each site.

The training aims to develop internal teams capable of operating and monitoring quality systems, promoting a quality culture across the workforce, and integrating quality requirements into production and operations.

From Quality Improvement to Export Readiness

The initiative seeks not only to improve factory quality but also to help manufacturers better meet export-market requirements concerning product quality, production consistency, documentation, and relevant standards.

The intended process begins with an on-site assessment, followed by an improvement plan, a functioning quality management system, staff training, and implementation follow-up, leading to stronger readiness for expansion and international market entry.
